There are only fourteen days left until I fly abroad to Paris! I can not believe the time is flying by, so I am cherishing these final days with my family and friends. Tonight I was able to spend an ample amount of time with the ever so lovely Henry family. When you walk into Granny's house you can just feel the love that is there. The HoHoHo from my dad never gets old, and always puts a smile on my face. I was able to elaborate on my trip and become more and more excited as I talked about it. There was no short supply of delicious food to be eaten. Ham, macaroni casserole, green beans, broccoli casserole, tex mex (a long time favorite of mine), and so much more filled my stomach. Boy am I going to miss that in Paris. From Granny crying over the 46 inch TV that was given to her to the "apple pie" that was floating around the house tonight was filled with love and laughter. The only thing that would have made it perfect is if our out of town family was able to join us.
Ending the night with "midnight" mass, starting at ten, was the icing on the cake. There was a liturgical dancer, which we missed, and carols when we walked in. Even though the massed has changed drastically since I have last gone, it made for a fun mass. If you are allowed to have one of those. I was confused and never knew what I was supposed to say, it was all good because the cantor also messed up. Now our pastor, Father Don Hill, is a character. When I attended church over Thanksgiving break he announced that he was drunk off of church wine. That made for an interesting mass, he was slurring words and forgetting what came next. Tonight he used swaddling as a verb proclaiming "I wanna swaddle!". I got a good laugh out of it. Christmas is here and we welcome the arrival of baby Jesus. I hope that everyone has a wonderful Christmas filled with family. To all my friends that I will not see for a while I love and miss you everyday!
Joyeux Noel!
